A beautiful evening in Geelong

Evan's parents and brother have recently moved to Geelong, so this was our next stop.
We spent the evening with family at the waterfront and baths. The weather was very warm and there were lots of people but apparently it's always busy because of the beach here.
We ate pizza next to the playground and then Evan, S and I went for a swim out to the platform in the middle of the baths. Its a huge enclosure with a board walk around the outside, two floating pontoons, diving boards, a high dive, and a large structure in the middle that you can only swim out to. The water was a lovely temperature but there was a lot of seagrass and this made the bottom very dark and it was hard to say what might have been down there. There were some crazy men doing back flips off the high dive for the crowd. Luckily there were no major injuries.
Along the waterfront there are painted bollards made to look like historical figures. I think my favourites were the life savers.

Earlier in the day before we left Melbourne L had seen a tram and really wanted to go on one so he and I had a special ride down High St. We found an amazing little Italian cake shop where he had a choc/vanilla cornelle and we then got back on the tram up High St, back to the car.
