Due to trailer rego business we weren't able to leave Mt Isa until after lunch. The road took us through the hilly country east of Mt Isa and opened into the yellow farming plains of central Queensland. There are much shorter distances between towns now we've made it back east and the towns are actually more than just a roadhouse, generally speaking. We passed through Cloncurry and headed down the road to Winton. We didn't make it all the way so tonight we're camped at the Kynuna roadhouse where they only charged us $15 for an unpowered site.
Kynuna boasts the famous billabong where once a jolly swagman camped. Shame we didn't bring our swags.
There isn't anything else here.
