The last of our house went today. Now there is just soil and a huge space. I managed to salvage the pink cast iron bath and will now try to find out if I can get it re enamelled for the boys bathroom. Probably white though.

House no more
The house came down today.
The excavator arrived at 1 pm and within a few short hours all was flattened.
I originally said that I didn't want to watch but how could I not. I shed a couple of tears and said my good byes.
S missed it all. First day back of yr 2. L wasn't that interested and R was woken from his sleep from the noise. He liked the digger but I don't think he really understood what was happening.
So, the site should be cleared tomorrow. Good bye little house.
Then let the build begin!

Off to a good start
Demo was scheduled to start today.
The fence went up yesterday.
The electricity was cut.
The asbestos guys arrived at 7am in a light drizzle.
Perfect conditions for asbestos removal.
Almost all done by 2.30 and ready for the rest of the demo over the next few days.
Ok, it's only day one but I'm happy so far.

A bit upside down
We are out of our little house and in with our very generous neighbours next door.
Our things are crammed into the garage and we've gutted the house, as much as we could. Now its just a wait for the excavator to arrive, which should be tomorrow. I dont want to watch.
So it feels like our world has been turned a bit upside down. The kids seem to be holding it together...at the moment.

The beginning
Hello
and welcome to my blog.
Sorry, I'm a bit new to this, but I had to start today as today is kind of the beginning. The beginning of a very big year that should hopefully be quite memorable. However, knowing my memory, if I don't blog it, it'll all get jumbled up in my head and forgotten.
So today it the day, that we move house. A lot is already packed. But there is a lot more to do. I'd better not waste any more time.
